Our steel journey began in 1960, when the late Mr. Abdul Rasheed Butt started his career in steel trading. In 1967, he expanded into importing steel from the US and European regions.
In 1991, his eldest son, Mr. Wahaj Rashid Butt, joined the business. Together, father and son forged an enduring partnership rooted in discipline, integrity and an unwavering commitment to excellence, laying the cornerstone of the company’s leadership in steel. By the grace of God, they have never looked back.
From 1991 to today, WR Steel has been a trusted name in the trading of steel, coal, polymers and minerals. Steel is the core of our business, and we deal in Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Galvanized, Galvalume, Electrolytic Tin Plate (ETP), Tin Mill Black Plate, Angle Iron, C Channels, H Beams and I Beams, delivering quality material reliably and on time.
In 2004, they diversified beyond steel with the launch of Transpet Plastic Industry, a plastic PET bottle unit. As a manufacturer of PET bottles, Transpet produces pesticide and insecticide bottles, mineral water bottles, cola bottles, phenyl bottles, and pharma bottles for the pharmaceutical industry. The group also offers PET cans through PET Can Pakistan (petcan.pk), which introduced PET cans to the Pakistani market for the first time in 2024.
Wisam Enterprises was established in 2011, and in 2014, in response to market demand and the growing gas shortage, it began its coal business journey. Today, Wisam Enterprises deals in bituminous coal, supplying imported coal from different origins like Indonesia, South Africa and Australia, along with local Pakistani coal from Hyderabad, Quetta/Balochistan, Punjab, Jhimpir and Lakhra.
In 2024, Wint Corporation was launched as the group’s latest expansion. Wire rods are the core product of Wint Corporation, which also deals in a complete range of steel products, including Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Galvanized, Galvalume, Electrolytic Tin Plate (ETP) and Tin Mill Black Plate.
